Banana, Cacao & Avocado Smoothie Bowl

I am so obsessed with breakfast. It is the one meal a day I never skip because I am so hungry when I wake up. This breakfast smoothie bowl is super thick, creamy and gives me the best energy boost in the morning! The energy boost keeps me going for hours, without a quick crash that I would usually get from a higher sugary meal. The cacao powder, maca powder, chia seeds and avocado (along with all the other ingredients) are all high in antioxidants, protein, omega 3 and magnesium.

Another thing, I am so obsessed with is maca powder at the moment. If you’re a female (or male) you need to start using maca powder. It is known to help regulate hormones by controlling estrogen levels, and has shown to reduce anxiety and depression by stabilising sugar levels. It is also a natural source of iron (vegans/women’s dream).

Banana, Cacao & Avocado Smoothie Bowl
Makes 1 smoothie bowl

2 frozen bananas
1/2 avocado
1/2 mango
1 tablespoon tahini
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon maca powder
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1/2 cup of almond milk
(blend all ingredients in a blender until thick and smooth – add more almond milk/water is the mixture is too thick)

1 tablespoon oats
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 fresh banana
1 tablespoon frozen raspberries
1 teaspoon tahini & 1 teaspoon agave syrup (mix together and drizzle ontop)
