| Ok, let’s go! |

Coconut Aminos-
My new favourite! Coconut aminos is a seasoning sauce made from coconut sap. It resembles soy sauce but is soy free, GF, MSG free and vegan. It has amazing health benefits. Use it as a replacement for soy sauce, as a salad dressings or a flavouring for pastas and stir fries.

Nutritional Yeast (AKA nooch)-
Nutritional yeast is a deactivated yeast, which means that it will not lead to any infections often caused by yeast. It is high in B12 and B vitamins which a lot of people are often deficient in. Asides from all this, it has an amazing parmesan taste that makes it awesome in pasta dishes (vegan alfredo), on top of vegetables and in pesto sauces.

Coconut Butter –
Coconut butter is made from the flesh of the coconut and is really special. Yes, because of the creamy, melt in the mouth texture, you can use it on your toast and in many recipes (especially raw desserts). This is my favorite part – when you add water to the butter it turns into coconut cream or coconut milk (depending on the amount of water added). This means, I have been using it in curries, pastas and anytime I need a creamy consistency in something. I use coconut butter in my recipe for Raw Lavender and White Chocolate Vegan Cheesecake

Cocao Powder-
Cacao powder is made from unroasted cocao beans and is natures chocolate (YUM). It is very high in antioxidants, contains protein, calcium, magnesium and improves heart function. It also contains phenethylamine which realizes endorphins and keeps us focused. This is only a few of the health benefits of raw cacao powder; the list goes on. I use it in my oats (great for keeping me alert in the morning), smoothies and raw recipes!

Coconut Oil-
Despite the controversy around coconut oil, it is one of my favourite products.  Not only does coconut oil have a million and one uses around the home, for the face, body, mouth and hair, it is great to use in cooking. The super food can be used for baking, frying, raw desserts and stir fries. It is a stable oil that is rich in healthy fats and antibacterial (so it is good for the stomach). Make sure you purchase organic, virgin and unrefined coconut oil. It isn’t hard to find.

Apple Cider Vinegar–
The “Super Fluid” is made from apple juice that has been fermented. It is used for many home remedies and cooking recipes. I use it mainly for salad dressings and drinking with water in the morning as a ‘detox’ beverage. I found that using apple cider vinegar increases my energy levels, makes my skin glow, whitens my teeth, keeps me lean and prevents indigestion.

Dates-
Natures caramel. Great for recipes such as raw slices and the delicious perfect snack. They promote weight loss, reduce blood pressure, help with iron deficiency, high in fibre and potassium. I use dates in the base of my Raw Lavender and White Chocolate Vegan Cheesecake

Tahini-
Tahini is a dip/paste made from sesame seeds that has a nutty taste. It is very versatile and great to use for salad dressings and dips. It has so much protein, that it actually has more protein then most nuts and milk. It is a source of Vitamin B and E, boosts energy and brain function, has iron, magnesium and other important minerals. I use it in my recipe Vegan Beetroot Hummus

Hulled Tahini ‘Absolute Organic’

Jack Fruit-
The perfect meat substitute! Jack fruit is the largest tree born fruit and is great to use in savory dishes such as soups, ‘pulled pork’ dishes, mexican food, pastas, salads and the list goes on. It absorbs flavour really well. Get creative with this one! I made Vegan Jack Fruit Tacos.
